Description
The course is an in-depth study of the immune system responses to infectious agents at the molecular, cellular and genetic levels. Emphasis is placed on the fundamentals of immunology: innate and adaptive (humoral and cellular) immunity; interactions with antigens; lymphocyte activation; ontogeny and phylogeny. The applied aspect of the course will cover vaccines, allergy and other hypersensitivities, autoimmune diseases, immunodeficiency and tumor immunology.
