Description

The course is an in depth study of the immune system responses to infectious agents at the molecular, cellular and genetic levels. Emphasis is placed on the fundamentals of immunology: innate and adaptive (humoral and cellular) immunity; interactions with antigens; lymphocyte activation; ontogeny and phylogeny. The applied aspect of the course will cover vaccines, allergy and other hypersensitivities, autoimmune diseases, immunodeficiency and tumor immunology.
