This course provides an introduction to the construct of poverty and strategies to alleviate it. Students will examine the multidimensional nature of poverty and explore the causes and consequences of poverty at the individual, household, and community levels. The course will cover topics such as poverty measurement, social protection, microfinance, conditional cash transfer, food assistance, community development, and data informed advocacy campaign strategies.
