Description
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Deaf Studies program offers students a comprehensive understanding of Deaf culture, history, language, and community. This program examines areas including American Sign Language linguistics, Deaf history and culture, advocacy, interpreting and translation, and social justice issues impacting the Deaf community. Students will gain a strong academic foundation and practical skills related to the Deaf community. Students must complete specialized training in one of two tracks: Sign Language Interpreting or Advocacy Social Services and complete a practicum and fieldwork course during their final semester of the program.
